  2. Assign or confirm the internal lot identifier and link it to the approved component specification.
  3. Review the COA for completeness, expected methods, results, and lot traceability.
  4. Perform or arrange the required identity test or examination and any other defined verification activities.
  5. Document the results and quality review; release the material only after the required decision is complete.
  6. If a discrepancy appears, place the lot in the defined investigation or material-review process rather than informally overriding the record.

Build a data trail that follows the material

The strongest programs reduce friction between sourcing, quality, formulation, and production. A controlled data trail can connect the supplier and material specification to the master manufacturing record, batch production record, product specification, and finished-product review. That connection helps teams evaluate changes without losing sight of the formula or label requirements.
